Project Maryville

Welcome to Project Maryvale

Project Maryvale works in collaboration with the Housing Industry toward the economic and social wellbeing of our neighborhoods.

The Sacrifice is Worth the Fight

The youth involved with Project Maryvale chose “the sacrifice is worth the fight” as their tag and mantra. They are committed to honoring the sacrifices made by their parents, the sacrifices they make in how they choose to spend their time, and fighting for a better life through the vehicle of education. Housing and Education together can create massive change for the better.

Primarily focused on low income, underserved communities, Project Maryvale, a nonprofit 501 (c3), was founded and is committed to the revitalization and stabilization of these neighborhoods. Over the last several years, low income neighborhoods have been hit hardest by the default market. Homeowners suffered and continue to experience the greatest degree of fraud and underrepresentation.

In facing today’s challenges, there are still a number of choices and solutions that we can opt to utilize in working through the default market. Project Maryvale believes that together with the Housing industry we can not only stabilize neighborhoods but revitalize them and support a stronger future for the youth and the families that live there.

We do this by adhering to the following principles:

  • Increasing Owner Occupant Purchases

Studies show that neighborhoods with high owner occupancy experience reduced crime rates and have more graduating seniors going on to college or University. All assets donated to Project Maryvale will be rehabbed to FHA NSP standards and sold only to Owner Occupants. This initiative will help Families feel safe and proud of their community once again.

  • Supporting the Education System

All profits derived from assets sold by Project Maryvale will be utilized to support the education of the youth that live in these neighbors through the following venues:

    • Support the Public School Systems.

Public schools are funded by property tax dollars. In areas where the tax dollars are greatly diminished due to drop in property values or high vacancy areas, necessary programs are often times eliminated due to funding challenges. We believe the sports and arts programs are vital to the social growth as well as the opportunity to compete for a number of college scholarships available. PM supports these programs by providing equipment, funds for physicals and required entry fees.

    • University, college and Trade School Scholarships.

Profits from the sale of donated homes and cooperating Brokers are converted to Scholarships for youth that live in these neighborhoods. The students and local schools are getting involved and believe that only through Education will they be able to break the cycle of they presently live in.
